About the Artist
Barbara has studied drawing, painting, photography, graphic arts, lapidary and metalworking. In the past she has been employed as a silversmith for Kamala, Silvermine, and Rock Maninoff.
Under the name of Soleilfire Creations, she has been selling one of a kind and limited edition jewelry through several prestigious galleries in the Northeast.
Locally she has studied watercolor with Jeanne Potter, Lucianna Heinemann, Tom Lynch, Mary Horrigan, Al Hammer and Susan Tino Santillo. She studied oil with Gary Laverak and David Lussier and Pamela Simpson and most recently Sandra Wakeen.
Recently in 2007 she became a member of the CT Watercolor Society after having been selected into two consecutive juried shows. June 2007, her watercolor after John Singer Sargent won an award at the Essex Art League ‘Faux’ show.
She is a member of the CT Watercolor Society, CT Plein Air Painters, Lyme Art Association, Essex Art Association, West Hartford Art League, Glastonbury Art League and Wethersfield Art League. Her artwork has been selected into juried shows at all of the above as well as the Act II Gallery.
A gardener who loves to paint, she can often be found enjoying her favorite subject matter – flowers, gardens, the seashore and other waterways.
