Gloria Betlem and Christine Sevilla have created an art exhibit and event to focus attention on the “little lakes”-- the last two pristine Finger Lakes. There is growing concern that these rare intact environments and clean water supplies will fall to development as the City of Rochester has deemed their sale a possibility. Environmentalists have been urging the Governor to set aside the lakes as a park or preserve. The political will can only come from increased public awareness and interest in the lakes. Speaker at the reception will be Stephen Lewandowski, a noted environmental leader and head of the coalition to save the “little lakes.”
