Q. Do you feel that digital photography has captured the attention of artists?

A. I am amazed at the accelerated conversion of photographers moving from silver image making to Digital. All you have to do to verify this is to look at the volume of equipment for sale on EBAY and compare the precipitous drop in prices of this equipment with the prices of a year ago.

Bear in mind that there is still a tremendous interest in large format photography and this will probably continue until Digital cameras of larger format, and particularly cameras that have the ability to manipulate perspective and other corrective adjustment, are available as Digital. However, to some extent this is a moving target because of the manipulative capability of computer programs like Photoshop.

To those like myself who were schooled in and devoted to large format photography, the past few years have been somewhat nostalgic because of the overwhelming movement to 35mm in the photographic illustration field. However, the quality, resolution, and absence of grain of digital cameras has made the small format even more acceptable to me and to a growing number of photographers.
